Entry Control Solutions from Smarter Security Now Have A&E Specifications Available

Full Lines of Fastlane Optical Turnstiles and Door Detective Tailgate Detection Systems Have CSI-formatted Specifications to Simplify Work of Security Consultants, Architects and Engineers
Austin, Texas – June 27, 2013

Smarter Security, Inc., provider of premium, innovative entrance control and outdoor security solutions, today announced that Architectural & Engineering (A&E) specifications are available for the first time for all Fastlane optical turnstiles and Door Detective products. Engineers, consultants, and others who write specifications for security projects will appreciate the ease with which they can add Smarter Security solutions to their work for their clients.

“Our Fastlane turnstiles are often part of the plans for a lobby renovation or new building being constructed – large projects that are carefully managed and planned,” said Jeff Brown, CEO of Smarter Security. “We are happy to be able to now answer requests for specs for any of our entry security products with a complete specification presented in a format approved by the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI). With these specifications and our nascent ability to provide Revit® drawings for 3D modeling of building lobbies, we are becoming a better resource for our various partners.”

A&E specifications for all Smarter Security entry control products are provided in Microsoft® Word format and are written in the CSI MasterFormat® standard used for commercial and institutional building projects in North America. The CSI format in Word makes it easy for a spec writer to find needed content and to copy/paste it into the specification being written. Seventeen specifications documents are available for convenient download without login from the company’s web site at

Fastlane security turnstiles are utilized by high-rise buildings, government offices, and corporations to upgrade the security of a building by better controlling who enters through the building lobby. More than ten models of Fastlane are available to meet different tastes, security objectives, and budget constraints. Door Detective from Smarter Security is available in three models and is used to enhance the access control on perimeter doors or at important doorways throughout a building. By alarming tailgaters and other unauthorized entries, Door Detective protects an access-controlled doorway after the door is opened. It also ensures passage in only the approved direction and facilitates anti-passback enforcement in highly secure areas.
