Smarter Security Systems Appoints New Director of Operations

J. A. “Jack” Leach Brings Over 15 Years of Experience to Improve Company Operational Performance and Financial Management
Austin, Texas – July 27, 2011

Smarter Security Systems, provider of premium, innovative entrance control and outdoor security solutions, today announced that J. A. “Jack” Leach has recently joined the company in the position of Director of Operations. This is a newly created position within the company in which he will lead efforts to implement processes and structure to allow Smarter Security to better serve its customers today and to prepare it for accelerated growth in the coming years. Leach reports directly to the CEO, Jeff Brown.

Leach will oversee all company back-end operations, including finance, accounting, purchasing, IT, facilities, human resources, assembly, warehousing, and distribution. In this position, he also has responsibility for the important customer-facing activities of sales support and technical support.

“We have reached a point in our company where we need greater structure and oversight to best manage the operational aspects of the business,” said Brown. “We are delighted to have someone with Jack’s background and leadership skills join us to assist in managing through the rapid growth we are experiencing and to help take Smarter Security to the next level. His experience with large companies and in change management will help our company run more efficiently, acquire and develop the appropriate talent, and strategize and execute our plans for growth.”

Leach comes to Smarter Security with extensive finance and operational experience in Fortune 500 companies and with startups. In various roles, such as CFO and controller, he has increased margins, streamlined operations to reduce costs, and raised various forms of capital. In consulting and interim executive management roles, he has structured organizations and helped guide teams to new levels of success. Leach’s more than 15 years of experience includes work in telecommunications, public utilities, biotechnology/pharmaceutical, and manufacturing. Leach earned his bachelor's degree in finance from the Mason School of Business at the College of William & Mary in Virginia.
