Smarter Security Systems Introduces Fastlane Touchscreen Remote

Lobby Security is Easier with Intuitive Control of Fastlane Optical Turnstiles
Austin, Texas – February 17, 2010

Smarter Security Systems, provider of intelligent entrance control and outdoor security solutions, announced today the availability of Fastlane Touchscreen Remote Console. Touchscreen Remote is a streamlined device that can easily be used by building security staff to control and monitor Fastlane optical turnstiles.

“A hallmark of Fastlane is elegance, and this remote console complements the design of the turnstiles while offering an intuitive interface for security officers,” said Mark Ellsworth, Vice President of Sales and Business Development for Smarter Security Systems. “Fastlane customers will appreciate the small size of Touchscreen Remote and the intelligence it brings to the business through its counting capability.”

Fastlane Touchscreen Remote is designed for use with all current model Fastlane turnstiles and one unit can control up to eight lanes. Icons representing the number of connected lanes include directional arrows that can be pressed to allow access or exit through each lane. When a second-stage alarm on a turnstile is activated, the intrusion is annunciated both audibly and visually on Touchscreen Remote. The functional mode of each turnstile can also be altered with the remote console, giving security officers complete control over the turnstiles and helping to speed traffic through the lobby. The ability of Touchscreen Remote to count the number of people entering and exiting the building assists with population management, especially important during emergency evacuation events.

Fastlane optical turnstiles include barrier arm turnstiles, speedgates with glass barriers up to 6-foot high for the highest level of security, and non-barrier turnstiles when aesthetics and cost are primary considerations. Visit www.smartersecurity.com to learn more.
