Fastlane Plus AS Secures TJU Hospital Buildings

Thomas Jefferson University Hospital has taken a leadership role in the industry. The hospital placed multiple orders for Fastlane Plus AS turnstiles in 2014, including a recent order for 9 lanes to be installed in the Gibbon building this spring. Hospitals are often thought to have uncontrollable entrances, and TJU Hospital has proven higher security is achievable.

Thomas Jefferson University installed Fastlane turnstiles years ago, and this positive experience led the co-located hospital to Smarter Security. Fastlane Plus AS was selected to provide a more open appearance where the barriers will rise to impede an intruder. FastScan will enable visitors with barcode badges to pass through the lanes. The violence in January at hospitals in Massachusetts and Texas is tragic, so we’re happy to help protect patients and staff in this hospital.

SmarterBeam Model Line is All New

SmarterBeam has an all-new lineup that includes wireless intrusion detectors. The four new models have features that significantly lower their vulnerability to defeat and are easier to install. Two wireless models can be installed without trenching and where there’s little infrastructure – no cables are required as the systems utilize reliable Inovonics wireless technologies and are powered by batteries that can be recharged with solar power.

Unique to SmarterBeam is a second PIR sensor that eliminates the common creep zone vulnerability. Sophisticated tamper protection will alarm any movement of the detector, any attempts to mask it by blocking it with objects or sprayed materials, and any effort to open the housing or the mounting bracket. Models are available to detect intrusions in a 500-ft-long “curtain” area or an area 100-ft wide.



New Inside Sales Rep for Central, West, and Canada

We recently added a new member to our sales team in Austin. Jessika Hernandez is already working with customers in the central and western United States, as well as Canada. She will provide the same high level of support throughout the purchase process that customers expect from Smarter Security.

Research Facility Protected with SmarterBeam

In the healthcare industry, security is important to protect proprietary information and operations that can be very profitable. A large healthcare company ordered SmarterBeam VWA100 to help secure the perimeter of a research facility. Prior experience with SmarterBeam proved the value and benefits of the solution and led to this recent order.

SmarterBeam is an outdoor motion detector that uses passive infrared technology to detect intruders. The VWA100 model has a coverage area 100 feet wide and 90 feet long. It senses and alarms anyone moving through this broad area and can operate in temperature extremes. As mentioned in a story above, all-new SmarterBeam models are more secure and even easier to use.
